Welcome to your drumming journey!

As a dedicated instructor, I’m passionate about helping you discover the joy of drumming and unleash your inner musician. With my guidance, you can learn 100 songs or more each year and benefit from: -Personalized Learning : Lessons tailored to your unique goals and style. -Playing in a Band : Gain insider tips on collaboration and networking with fellow musicians. -Boosting Confidence : Guaranteed growth and self-appreciation after every lesson. -Focus and Calm : Unique breathing and drumming exercises to enhance mindfulness. ​ -Academic Enhancements: Improved focus and performance in school through drumming. I offer a supportive environment for all, including students with ADHD, CAPD, dyslexia, autism, Alzheimer’s, and visual or hearing impairments. ​Many students, whom I began teaching at age five, have been with me for over a decade. With two studios in San Francisco and flexible online lessons, I’m excited to help you start your drumming adventure!

Welcome to Decoding Drumming Studio!

I began my drumming journey at the age of 12 and had my first gig just a year later. Since then, I have performed at over 3,000 shows in various venues, including clubs, musical theaters, international music festivals, and concert arenas.

Background

I earned my degree in Budapest and established my first drum school at 18. Teaching drums has become my lifelong passion, and over the past 30 years, I have had the pleasure of educating hundreds of students. I warmly welcome drummers with diverse learning needs.

Approach

My teaching is characterized by infinite patience, catering to drummers of all ages—from my youngest student at 4 to my oldest at 85.

Welcoming Environment

I treat each age group with equal respect, creating an inclusive and inviting learning atmosphere that encourages creativity and growth. I believe that a supportive environment allows students to express themselves freely and fosters a sense of belonging.

Community Engagement

I host family-friendly recitals filled with drumming and treats, fostering a sense of community and celebrating the musical achievements of students and their families.

Teaching Philosophy

I offer a systematic and straightforward approach to learning drums, focusing on technique, musical styles, and each student’s individual preferences.

Decoding Drumming Book

Unique Notation System: The book, “Decoding Drumming,” features a unique music notation teaching system that has received years of positive feedback from my students. This method simplifies the process of learning to read music, making it more accessible.
Inspiration:  The title “Decoding Drumming” draws inspiration from computer coding, particularly binary code, emphasizing a logical approach to mastering drumming.
Benefits of the Method: This innovative method allows students to memorize 16 or 32-bar exercises in seconds. It caters to musicians of all abilities, including those with conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia, CAPD, autism, hearing/visual loss, or Alzheimer’s.
Inclusivity and Structure: The exercises are tailored for drummers aged four and above, covering a wide range of musical genres to enhance skills at all proficiency levels. The book is structured logically, enabling even visually impaired drummers to engage with and memorize the content without looking at the music notation.
